Maatla Seetelo
Creative Director & Senior Designer

South African Creative leader that turns thinking into things people can see, experience and connect with through creative direction, design, visual systems, creative strategy and photography.
Over the past 13+ years, Matla Seetelo has built a career around turning complex ideas into clear, compelling creative work across brand identities, campaigns, content, photography and large-scale communication platforms. His experience spans corporate, public and social-impact sectors, with work connected to organisations including UNICEF, loveLife, the International Labour Organization, NAC, the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation and the National Department of Health. His approach explores how creativity can influence behaviour, shape conversations and create meaningful connections between organisations, brands and people. At Kwambele, he conceived The Purple Couch for loveLife, a youth-focused YouTube conversation platform designed to encourage honest dialogue around issues affecting young people. His work also expanded across Africa through the International Labour Organization’s The Next Normal series, where he led concept development, art direction and infographics across seven African markets. Today, Matla is at Blue Moon Corporate Communications, contributing to concept development, art direction and design across internal communications, campaigns, events, brand storytelling and new business pitches for Absa and Mastercard Foundation. In 2026, he was selected as a judge for the Effie Awards South Africa and the EACA IMPACT Awards, joining an international jury representing 25 countries. Raised in Orange Farm, Johannesburg, Matla brings a distinctly South African perspective shaped by culture, community and lived experience.
