Description

The Mukden Palace Experience a Mixed Reality Interface redefines visitor engagement at cultural heritage sites by integrating cutting edge technology with traditional exhibits. This project inspired by the Shenyang Palace Museum aims to balance the authenticity of cultural landmarks with interactive digital experiences. By employing devices like the Apple Vision Pro users can interact with exhibits through intuitive eye tracking and gesture controls diving deeper into the historical context with enriched multimedia content. Developed from March 2023 to 2024 this interface uses Figma and Adobe Photoshop for design and macOS Xcode for testing adhering to ergonomic guidelines to optimize user interactions. Our research incorporating field observations and internet ethnography directly informs design choices addressing user needs for engaging and informative digital experiences at museums setting a pioneering standard for heritage sites globally.
