Following the Japanese principals of Satoyama - a harmonious balance between people and built form - international developer Sekisui House enters the coveted Lower North Shore of Sydney, with its new residential master planned community ‘Waterstone’. Our challenge was to create a brand that would strike a natural balance between a premium luxurious product, with the concept of integrating with nature.
Five elegant buildings are nestled around a luscious green spine, where an incredible pool overlooks the city and bays. An elusive enclave, a step above the rest, driving a brand that is founded on a state of awe - a moment where emotion and experience of place converge. It imagines not merely a built form, but a magical space in time where residents can craft their moments integrated with the natural surrounds.
A poetic idea of a pebble touching water, the initial contact being gentle and almost imperceptible, yet it creates gentle permeating ripples. This is a metaphor for Waterstone, and how it moves beyond the physical to evoke feeling, mood, and connection.
Inspired by natural elements of stone and water, we created an understated richness from which to build drama and contrast. Like the architectural design of the building, every detail of the brand and marketing roll out is meticulously considered to establish a premium presence without excess. Waterstone’s luxury is felt rather than declared.
