To celebrate our twenty nine years in business, we are releasing a special limited edition publication: an edition of Stevensons Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. For the occasion, we are designing a dedicated typeface, jeh grotesque. Some glyphs feature unexpected, distorted, and deliberately unpleasant variations, evoking the tension between the protagonists two identities. The novels text is accompanied by illustrations inspired by the first Mickey Mouse shorts, whose presence on the pages is entirely random: no narrative coherence, no logical connection. Just as Hyde lives inside Jekyll, Mickey Mouse is a strange, alien character who insinuates himself between the lines, generating a visual and conceptual short circuit.
