Design concept:
This project is an exhibition entry for the 2025 Taiwan Excellence in Printing Design Exhibition curated by the Department of Cultural and Creative Industries at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology presenting original IP works created by students and alumni of the department. The exhibition team was responsible for the overall visual identity, spatial installations, on-site execution, and the planning of interactive experiences.
The exhibition takes the mushroom as the creative prototype for the main IP, Inspiration Mushroom. Drawing on the characteristic that mushrooms are nurtured through mycelium networks, the concept symbolizes that cultural creativity is generated through the gradual accumulation of long-term learning, connection, exchange, and symbiosis. This idea resonates with the song Inspiration Mushroom, which has recently sparked widespread resonance in the Chinese-speaking cultural sphere, positioning Inspiration Mushroom as a symbol of creativity being seen within a contemporary creative context, and corresponding to the implicit creative network formed among students, alumni, and industry.
The overall visual design is structured around a grid composed of square modules, presenting multiple original IPs and visualizing a state of creative symbiosis and continuous diffusion. The color palette centers on the department's representative orange, combined with pixel and dot matrix inspired typography integrated with the silhouette of the main IP, establishing a bold and consistent visual identity. Through exhibition walls, display objects, and interactive drawing experiences, audiences are guided to actively participate, presenting cultural creativity as a dynamic system of ongoing generation and transformation.
