I am a multi-award-winning type designer with origins in the Czech Republic. I originally studied industrial design in Munich and worked as a product designer in Vienna and Milan before discovering my true passion for type. In 2003, I graduated with distinction from the MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading, UK. After several years as a typeface designer at DaltonMaag in London, I co-founded TypeTogether with José Scaglione. Today, with a team of eighteen people working around the world, TypeTogether has grown into one of the leading internationally awarded independent type foundries. Our work focuses on creating contemporary multiscript typefaces through research and collaboration, developing tailored typographic solutions for a wide range of clients, and designing expressive retail fonts for both digital and print environments. At TypeTogether, we are also committed to supporting the next generation of type designers through our typeface publishing and mentoring initiative, the **Gerard Unger Scholarship**, named in honour of our mentor and friend. As a founding member of **Alphabettes**, the international typography platform by and for women, I have been particularly involved in mentoring and community-building initiatives. I am also deeply engaged with **GRANSHAN**, the international platform dedicated to the identity-forming power of writing systems, type design, and communication design beyond Latin. As co-chair of the type design competition, I contribute to its strategy, communication, and development, and I co-curate and organise the TypeTech MeetUp. In addition, I have served as a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at NTNU in Gjøvik, Norway, and regularly give lectures and lead workshops at conferences, universities, and professional events around the world.
