Juyeon Park, Interaction Design Lead and Visual Art Director for midiDICE, loves the fact that her work can enhance people’s lives. “What I find most meaningful about my work is seeing people interact with my designs in real life,” she says. “It gives me a sense of purpose to know that my work contributes to improving people’s daily experiences.” Park also notes that with digital media, products continue to evolve after their launch. “We identify areas where we can implement improvement through updates,” she says. “This continuous refinement process not only allows me to grow professionally, but also helps ensure our design solutions better serve user needs.”
Park hails from South Korea, and her country of origin has profoundly shaped her design approach. “South Korea’s rapid technological advancement and swift integration into various industries have made me more adaptable as a designer,” she says. “We’re constantly exposed to new technologies and methodologies.” Park also credits South Korea for giving her a sophisticated understanding of aesthetics. “Here, an appreciation for visual excellence is deeply embedded in our everyday life and culture,” she says. “The high visual design standard has naturally influenced my work, pushing me to create design outcomes that are functional and meet these elevated aesthetic expectations.”
This flexibility and openness to project evolution are two key ways Park establishes rapport and trust with her clients. “I believe in involving clients in the ideation process through workshops and collaborative sessions,” she says. “When we visualize what the clients request, they can have a different perspective. That’s completely natural. Rather than being defensive about these differences, I maintain flexibility and see them as opportunities to better understand the clients’ vision.”

She also brings this open-minded approach to working with her team, encouraging them to express their ideas without boundaries and develop a cohesive direction together. “This approach helps us stay true to our core goals while maintaining the creative space needed to discover meaningful solutions,” Park says.
Park also manages multiple projects without getting burned out through journaling. “I maintain a consistent practice of monitoring my mental and physical well-being,” she says. “Through the process of journaling, I often discover that my concerns are more rooted in perceived uncertainties rather than actual circumstances. This insight helps me separate emotions from the situation at hand, and allows me to maintain a more objective perspective.”
She also keeps inspiration fresh by staying apprised of the latest design trends. “I actively engage with the design community by participating in various exhibitions, which helps me understand what fellow artists are exploring and what topics are driving current discussions,” Park says.
Mentorship is another way Park grows as a professional and keeps the creative spark alive. “My experience mentoring over 100 junior designers for more than 250 hours at TeamSparta has deeply influenced my vision for professional growth,” she says. “I’ve learned how mentoring is truly a two-way street and I’ve found myself constantly learning from their unique perspectives.”
